GE Recognizes John S. Clark Company for Excellent Jobsite Safety
Nuclear Energy recognized John S. Clark Company, LLC for excellent safety on their
Advanced Technology Center II office building project in Castle Hayne, NC that was
completed earlier this year. The project was certified a North Carolina Building Star
Site. The North Carolina Department of Labor designates construction worksites that
are “self-sufficient in their ability to control hazards” and have a quality safety and
The GE Advanced Technology Center II is an 80,000 square feet, two story building.
The building is a steel structure with metal framing, has stucco finish on three sides
and metal wall panel construction on the rear. The building contains over 100
windows. It will house up to 400 engineers, executives, and GE Hitachi support staff.
It includes 6 bays of cubicles, 30 offices, 12 conference rooms, and a state of the art
telepresence room for worldwide video conferencing.
The GE Advanced Technology Center II office building was constructed by John S.
Clark Company’s Wilmington, NC Division that was recently ranked as the second
largest General Contractor in the Wilmington area. In 2008, the Wilmington Division
completed 15 projects totaling $72,427,844 in revenue. The division has a staff of 32,
which includes 7 project managers and 15 superintendents.
